After you’ve hit some conference sessions and a few museums, it’s time to see what else is available in St. Paul. Care to see what life is like at Lake Wobegon? How about a roller coaster ride at the Mall of America?
The Fitzgerald Theater is Saint Paul's oldest surviving theater space. It currently is home to the live radio program A Prairie Home Companion with Garrison Keillor but also hosts other speakers and shows. From their first broadcast in 1974, Keillor and the APHC team went on to produce plenty of adventure — broadcasts from Canada, Ireland, Scotland, England, Germany, Iceland and almost every one of the 50 states; wonderful performers, little-known and world-renowned; standing ovations and stares of bewilderment. Today, A Prairie Home Companion is heard by more than 4 million listeners each week on 580 public radio stations, and abroad on America One and the Armed Forces Networks in Europe and the Far East. The theatre is close to the Crowne Plaza Hotel. Tickets are available for their performances, some Saturday evenings. To check the schedule and ticket prices, check their website.
History Theatre is recognized for creating new work based on the American experience. It is a leading resource for theatre companies desiring to produce original and dynamic work.
Interactive theater is alive and well in St. Paul and just 2 blocks from the Crowne Plaza Hotel. We anticipate that Tony and Tina’s Wedding will be the production during our conference.
